If you’re looking for something to read (and you’ve already completed the excellent ‘Pub Rules of the Eighties’) here are some suggestions from my own bookcase that I believe are well worth a look. I’m not saying that ‘Pub Rules’ is in the same league as any of these books but they have all influenced the way I write to one degree or another. I have split them between the books I found amusing and the books that offer a form of ‘Boy’s Own’/’Ripping Yarns’ type of escapism.
